Sustainable ceiling materials

Our responsibly sourced ceiling materials and products contribute to the green goals of your projects and to the health, safety and welfare of our communities.

Sustainable ceiling materials and products benefit people’s health, safety, and wellness, as well as the economic and environmental advantages of energy efficiency, lower emissions, reduced waste and other responsible practices.

We are proud to be an environmentally responsible, American manufacturer. Drawing on 50 years of success in Europe and availability in North America since 2013, we’re pleased that our stone wool ceiling products are now manufactured in the U.S., at our new Marshall County, Mississippi facility.

We continually invest in and improve upon our commitment to sustainability. We demonstrate our support for market-driven green building guidelines, rating systems, codes, and standards. We offer Environmental Product Declarations and provide transparency in our material acquisition, production, and transportation.

Achieving interior design sustainability and more

Interior design sustainability and the challenges of modern living have a huge impact on the changing needs of our customers and the ambitious projects they tackle. Our wellbeing goes hand-in-hand with the comfort of the environment, where we work, live, learn, heal, shop and play. We are in a fortunate position to make a positive impact with products that support:

  • Promoting healthy indoor environments
  • Making safer, more sustainable and more resilient buildings

Meeting your sustainable commercial interior ceiling design needs for green materials, our acoustic panels and ceiling tiles are made from natural and abundant stone and recycled content. Stone wool ceiling products harness the natural power of stone to create beautiful, comfortable indoor environments that enrich the lives of everyone who comes in contact with them.

In addition, our metal ceiling systems are low-emitting products, manufactured with recycled content and provide durable performance for sustainable interior designs.

Realizing the impact that long-lasting, healthy buildings have on people and the planet, we will continue to support your green design interior and exterior construction needs with sustainable ceiling materials.

Reduced lead times for product delivery are so important for us to stay on budget and on schedule. Being able to rely on Rockfon’s production at the new Marshall County plant makes my job easier. And, the fact that quicker turnaround comes with reduced fuel usage and emissions helps improve overall air quality and energy efficiency, so the impact is greater than just one job site.

The new standard: LEED v4

Helping you stay on top of current green guidelines and standards, we continually research and develop new tools and resources to support evolving criteria and certifications.

Our Rockfon LEED v4 Solution Guide has the most up-to-date information on how our products may support your project in pursuing certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Rating System. This handy reference guide includes a comprehensive chart detailing the possible LEED credits for Materials & Resources (MR) and Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ) along with supporting data.

Among the changes in LEED v4, this version takes a more holistic approach to product sustainability changing the narrow focus on recycled content and the former stand-alone credit for regional materials. Our continued focus on responsible sourcing is highlighted in the guide and throughout our website. It remains our priority to seek suppliers that meet our high-quality requirements and share our commitment to sustainable practices locally, nationally and globally.
